I'd verify the console revision. Once the console is able to do a MOP
load with the DE500-AA, then you may still fail unless VMS has support
for this module as well which you can verify according to note 1261.2.

We are testing the DE500-AA with AS500/500 alpha system firmware V3.9.
SRM:V6.4-5
ARC:V4.52
PALcode: VMS PALcode V1.18-0,OSF PALcode V1.21-0
SROM:V2.05
Also we tested with alpha system firmware v3.8 and we were faced same problem.
This customer has AS1000A as LAVc boot host and we already installed TIMA kit
(ALPLAN04_062,ALPBOOT06_062) for Alpha VMS V6.2-1. The workaround is that we
change DE500-AA to DE500-XA and this workaround works fine.
Best regards,
Seiki.

Sounds like the console doesn't support the -AA. You might check in the
WRKSYS::ALPHASTATION conference to see what version of firmware is needed. Note
1892 says on the AS500 it is v6.3-11, I don't know about the AS1000.
