1286.0. "de450 + venturis FX 5200 + excursion + NT4.0 Chirps like r2d2 after applying 45kit261" by CAMINO::CARRIE () Fri Mar 21 1997 17:12
This is a weird one, but I'll try here before logging the field service
call.
I have a Venturis FX 5200 w/ 64MB, running Windows NT4.0 with service
pack 2.
I added a DE450 card to the system when I originally received it, and
installed NT4 with the 21041 driver from the NT CDrom.
I thought I'd apply the latest DE450 drivers from web page (have had problems
with an Adaptec 2940 PCI card that goes away when remove 450).
After I installed the new 450 drivers I noticed that the speaker chirps whenever I
move windows around associated with Excursion (and only Excursion).
I tried reinstalling the drivers from the NT4 CD, but the chirps are still there.
Any ideas - is there some sort of IRQ conflict ?
Thanks,
Ian Carrie

| | Not sure how this happened but there is an option in Excursion
called Maestro that sounds through the speacker as packets arrive
and leave the X Server.
I don't recall turning this option on - and I don't know how
installing a driver would turn it on - but flipping that off
shut up the speaker.
