I have a customer that is trying to add a DE500-AA to a system that currently has a DE500-XA installed. For whatever reason they can only get one card to work at a time and never both. They are experiencing the problem on both a 4000 system and a 2100 system running WNT 3.51. Is there a known problem with this configuration or is there a special procedure to make these two cards (-XA & -AA) work together? tf

There are no known issues with this setup. What exactly are you seeing when you attempt to use 2 cards? Do the drivers install properly for both? Are there any messages in the event logger? -Brent

This is happening on Alpha 2100A machines. One card is used to connect directly to another 2100A with a DE500, the other card connects to a central hub. Both cards are using the driver DE500.SYS dated 8/6/96, 23,264 bytes. If one card is a DE500-XA and the other a DE500-AA there is a problem. They can individually communicate in the network properly as long as the other card is not connected to the network. When both are connected only the last installed controller is able to communicate. tf

Please try removing the adapters from the network control panel, reboot, and add them back in using the just released V2.7 kit. There is no reason then shouldn't both work. Are there any errors in the event logger? -Brent |
