Folks I have a problem with the DE500-XA. Customer is using it in his AXP running OpenVMS V6.2-1h3. At the >>> he gets link LED lit, but when DECNET attempts to start, it sees the card set at 100M/bits. Even though from the console it is set at Twisted Pair. I have had a look in LANCP and this intially reported the line speed set at 100, and so did SDA. We set it to 10, and SDA reported the change. Attempted a restart of DECNET but it just came back and said the line speed was set to 100. His sys$ewdriver is dated 26-apr-1996. Console firmware version is 3.8. Could this be a problem with the device driver? Steven Freke UK CSC

Folks I have found that ALPBOOT05_062.A;1, is supposed to fix some of the speed selection problem, and enable you to do this from LANCP. The customer has agreed to install this. Steven | |||||

Steven, There's a ALPLAN04_O62 kit coming out soon. This kit will cause all EW devices to look at the console environment variable (EWx0_MODE) and set the link accordingly. The speed and mode selection problems are fixed as well when set with LANCP. Jay. |
