| I loved Dax as usual, but this one seemed a bit disjointed. Martok and Worf did
not ring true at all to me.

Funny, I liked Worf and Martok, and thought Dax was a little too assertive in
this one. She looked like she was fomenting a rebellion.
I loved when Martok did the gesture with his two fingers and said "Engage"
(both times, once in Klingon).

| I thought this was an excellent episode. Everything rang true for
me, and I was pleased that they were able to explore a new facet
of Klingon culture (something that I would have thought very difficult,
ten years into the shows)

| I guess what seemed to not strike me right was the big fight between Worf and
Martok and then suddenly they are buddies again.
Oh, the other thing I wanted to mention about this that I found interesting:
One of the Klingons on the ship seemed to be an "old-style" TOS Klingon (looking
like a swarthy human). I guess we'll never know since Klingons "don't talk
about it" :-)

1088.6 | Sandra Nelson = human, alien, Klingon | LABC::HA | | Mon May 05 1997 20:31 | 12 |
| Interesting that Sandra Nelson was now a Klingon after doing the ST:VOY
where she was the alien that wanted Tuvok to stay wither her. That's
the neat thing about doing Star Trek I suppose - you can die or be in
another part of the galaxy as one alien / human in one episode / series
and then come back as another being in another episode / series.
Overall a pretty good episode, I thought.

They;ve done that several times. Speaking of ST:VOY, Tim Russ was in
an episode of ST: The Next Generation, one of the movies - I can't
remember which right now. And don't forget Robert Duncan Mcneil..
I guess if you find a good actor - relativly unknown and you like them,
go with it...

He was in the background (crowd scene) of one of the Mirror-Mirror type
episodes on DS9. He was one of the rebels.

re .5
Don't know how long the spoilers should be in place, but since the
following pretty much gives away the "punch line" of the show:
>I guess what seemed to not strike me right was the big fight between Worf and
>Martok and then suddenly they are buddies again.
Martok knew that Worf had deliberately dropped his guard (rather than
kill him) not knowing that Martok would not kill him if given the opening.
Martok's victory over Worf "energized" the crew just in time for the
Jimhadar ship to arrive--also proving Martok's intuition correct.
Question is, would a true Klingon have not gone for the victory
rather than allow himself to be stabbed?
So Worf has now been "adopted" into The House of Martok.

1088.10 | Yo Ho and a Barrel of Blood Wine | HOTLNE::HANLEY | The Galatic wanderer | Fri May 09 1997 09:51 | 9 |

I thought it was a good episode except for one little nit,
Klingons singing on the bridge? I almost expected them to
start singing "Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum", like the
pirates of old ,sailing the seven seas under a one eyed
captain.
