| I *think* this episode is retitled from "Real Life," so I'll treat it as such.
I'll move the notes around if this turns out to be an invalid assumption.

After Ensign Kim suddenly exhibits abnormal behavior, he instinctively leads
the U.S.S. Voyager to a mysterious planet, the Taresian homeworld.
There, a shocking story of his birth is told by members of the almost
exclusively female population -- Kim is part alien -- and they want him for
reproductive purposes.
This episode carries a "TV PG" parental guideline.

| Where was Zsa Zsa Gabor. Doesn't she rule this planet?
And why...
...did the poor guy get desiccated. I didn't follow the explanation,
mumble mumble need more DNA. Isn't that what sperm is for? Couldn't
you squeeze more DNA out of somebody with forty years of good
treatment, than one night of ecstasy that turns him into a dead raisin.

Well, it wouldn't have been much of a plot without it. The explanation
was that they needed a large volume of DNA, I guess all at once, so
getting small amounts over a long period of time wouldn't have done it.

| This has to rank right up their in the annals of terrible Trek episodes with
"Spock's Brain"! And speaking of TOS, wouldn't Kirk have felt right at home in
this episode. Except he would have escaped by giving them a lecture about how
his species has to be free to explore.
Sigh.

But, but, but... Spock's Brain was one of my favorite episodes!
Reminded me of a (Twilight Zone? Outer Limits?) episode I never saw called "To
Serve Man." Would you like fries with that?

Ok, ok. How about the O.K. Corral one? Or the TNG one where they were stuck
in this Hotel reliving some cheesy book?

Those were good ones, too, IMHO. How about that stupid one about the tribbles?
:-)
Actually, I don't recall disliking any TOS episode when I first saw them 30
years ago. I've had some reservations about some of them more recently, after
seeing them with an adult viewpoint. The TNG episode "Encounter At Farpoint"
withered in my estimation after seeing it again years later, too. The tribbles
episode ranks at or near the bottom, in my opinion, despite what the viewer
survey says.
...along with "Favorite Son." Although it had a weirdly charming campy feeling
to it; the episode you love to watch because it's so bizarre. Reminded me of
the Harlan Ellison (I think) movie, "A Boy And His Dog" (remember the
underground society in that one), along with the aforementioned "To Serve Man."
I suppose everything reminds me of something else. Which reminds me...
