| I just rented a movie called "Oblivion" in which George Takei has a supporting
part. "Oblivion" is a science fiction about a frontier town on a distant
planet. It is literally a frontier town because, except for the street lights
and automatic tellers, it looks like a scene out of Gunsmoke. George's
character is a doctor who's door lists: doctor, dentist, robotics, and
inventions as his specialties. His character also liked to drink.
Among his best lines were:
(While staggering down the street with a bottle of Jim Beame)
"Jim, beam me up!"
(While working on the cyborg deputy)
"Hand me that tri-corder"
and "I'm a doctor not a magician!"
There may have been more Star Trek references, but I don't remember them. The
movie was too poorly done for me to rent the movie again to check for more.
Regards,
JAM
