re .7: My trainer asked me to put her 16h+ Morgan gelding out when I went over to the barn yesterday. I pulled Trad out of his stall, cross-tied him, and was squatting down to put on his bell boots, and he dropped about a quart of water on my head. He had to have had that water in his mouth for at least a couple of minutes, planning it all. Another thing he'll do is "intercept" a halter when you're trying to get him ready to go out. He'll always get a piece of it in his mouth as you're trying to get it onto his nose. Last time it took me 5 minutes to get his halter on. My trainer also has a Belgian/quarterhorse cross to which the term "order of magnitude" applies well. Cam's favorite pastime is to play bulldozer and walk through fences. A few nights ago she did so to get at the new Paint gelding "Chief" who was in the adjacent turnout area. Somehow they worked things out, because neither was the worse for wear. Craig |
