    Brooklyn Academy of Music is presenting "Zingaro" a production
    of "Chimere" the French Equestrian Theater.  This will be in New York
    City at Battery park, September 17 - October 13th.
    
    "Zingaro, France's critically acclaimed equestrian theater troupe
    will perform 'Chimere', a spellbinding equestrian cabaret at the Bigtop
    at Battery Park City at 8:00pm each night.  This elaborate spectacle
    features 26 magnificent horses and 22 riders, dancers, and acrobats,
    plus The Musians of Rajasthan, an ensemble of Indian musicians and
    storytellers."
    
    "Although Zingaro's unique combination of daredevil horsemanship and
    strikingly majestic choreography is widely known in Europe, the group
    has never performed on this side of the Atlantic...." it goes on to 
    tell how it was a sold out run in Paris...Etc. 
    
    I saw an ad in the "Horses" magazine, with a fasinating picture, so I
    called The Brooklyn Academy to get more information mentioning my
    dressage club and that we might like to go.  They sent me
    LOTS of info and brochures.  If you would like a brochure, mail
    me your name and address (probably outside mail, since it's not
    business related, would be best) and I'll send you one. 
    
    (for those with faint hearts, a fair warning...tickets are $60 each!,
    but that's typical for a Broadway type event)

	The Zingaro "ballet" is, indeed, spectacular. I saw them when they were here in Switzerland on tour last autumn. They performed every night for 1 month and tickets for practically all performances were sold out months in advance. I went with several "non-horsey" people and they all loved it. Aside from the extremely well trained horses, the musicians are fabulous. 60$ is a lot of money, but IMO the show is worth the price.

	My orginal heading is back wards, it should have read: Brooklyn Academy of Music is presenting "Chimere" a production of "Zingaro" the French Equestrian Theater. Anyway, I just took an approximate count of how many of these things they sent me, around 200! If you have a club, group or would just like more than one to give your horsey minded friends, let me know. The brouchures are in color, and open up to a large picture of a mystical type horse and rider, very nice. Sharon

	I just ordered 3 tix for Sept. 21. $60 plus $4 fee. I'm excited! Thanks to the base noter for finding out about and posting this information. It might not be advertised much until closer to the performances, then tickets might be hard to get, especially for the weekends.

	Has anyone ever seen Zingaro? Zingaro, blending music, dance and mythology, Zingaro delves into a world where man and horse combine in a thrilling choreography of magical grace and beauty. Featuring 26 dashing horses and the traditional music of Rajasthan, Chimere mixes teh acrobatics and daredevil artistry of the modern circus. I might plan a trip to NY city to see this and I was wondering if anyone (JOHN) could tell me more about it. Louisa
