Hoof Hardener can cause the whole hoof to crack at its weakest point. Its much like using Develop 10 or Hard as Nail on your own nails. The best thing is to condition the hoof with a good commercial dressing. Shoes protect the hoofs and with the conditioner should ensure a healthy hoof. Max DTN 226-56-8

I think this topic was ment for another note - but anyway.... One should use Hoof Hardener on the nail holes once the horses shoes go on - if you do this on a regular basis, this will help prevent White Line infections in the hoof. Espcially in the spring when the ground is muddy, you should putt your hoof hardener on at least once a week. Louisa |
