Hello!
I am Vera, age 17. I live in Germering next to Munich, Germany. I am
looking for a 6-week practical work this summer in the US on a horse
ranch. This shouldn't be a professional job but a kind of free or
low-cost living for my work.
I started horseback riding about 6 years ago, when I was 12. I
practised it several times a week and took part in 2 courses of an
instructor, who teaches the Linda Tellington-Jones method (TTEAM), and
in other courses.
Then 5 years ago I started riding Icelandic Horses and specialized
in this breed, which I like very much. I participated in several
courses of high qualified Icelandic or German trainers and joined in
two tournaments for Icelandic Horses, where I could achieve the 4th and
6th rank.
Unfortunately I haven't any deep knowledge of Western Riding, but a
lot in English Dressage. I am used to all kinds of farm works and work
with horses, so I would like to go to a ranch, where I could work and
ride, preferrably Icelandic Horses or other gaited horses, like Paso,
Paso Fino,
American Saddlebred, Tennessee Walker with Tolt, Running Walk,
Foxtrott, Stepping Pace, Rack, Slow Gait or however it is called.
I know that Icelandic Horses are not that popular in the US, so any
breed would be good! My main interest is to combine horseback riding
and to get to know the US, so a wage is not mportant. I'd like an
arrangement where I get free or low-cost lodging and food for my work.
If you have any questions about me, if you have any hints, how to
get the chance for a practical work or if you own a ranch and want to
correspond with me, feel free to contact me via E-Mail (VAXmail:

fax (0 11 49 89 346918) or phone (0 11 49 89 8411769). E-mail and fax
are addresses of a friend of mine, who will forward your message to
me, so don't be confused if there is a delay in answering.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Vera.
