1849.0. "Newsletter (Input on Format requested)" by BRAT::FULTZ (DONNA FULTZ) Wed Jan 26 1994 10:48

I have asked to come up with a newletter for our Horse club.

If you were receiving a horse newsletter what would you like
    	to see for monthly articles?

I would think we would need a For sale, Wanted , Lease.

I only have 12 pages to cover - and as little as six.

But, I would like it to have same sections every quarter.

    	thank inadvance for the input..

    	Donna

    Hi,
    	I know I would also use a:
    				    Helpful Hints
    				    Feature article
    				    Listing Of this months shows
Makes my hunting of were to go to see or be in a show less of
a problem(read I don't have to remember were I stick all of those
    cards and literature) :')

1849.2Our llama newsletter contains...DEVMKO::BROWN_JI llove my llamas!Wed Jan 26 1994 12:4420
New Arrivals -- birth announcements, or could also
	                be horses newly acquired

New Members -- announce the new members of the assoc.

Calendar of Events -- shows, open houses, seminars or
			      clinics, whatever

Membership form -- the last page of the newsletter
is a copy of our current membership
form, which contains the cost of
annual dues and who to send it to

Good luck, I know our newletter editor puts in a lot of work
and doesn't get a lot of thanks -- we all love the newsletter
but don't always remember to tell her!

I don't do it for a horse club, but a dog club...

In addition to previously mentioned topics...

	- show/competition results of members
	- if the club has a board or other regular meetings,
include results, meeting topics, agendas, etc
	- maybe a training column with either guest or regular
		contributions
	- same with grooming?
	- book reviews (movies?)

I subscribe to two other dog-related newsletters and usually the first
place I turn is upcoming events and results of past events.

If you can get a simple table-of-contents (TOC) on the front page, that's a
good attention getter as well :)

Also, remember that a schedule of events isn't just the local shows but
presentations, training classes, anything that might interest the local
horse population...

    Hi,

Would it be possible for us in the Uk to subscribe to the publication
(please!). I would be interested in a problem column with other
readers advice on situations. Helpful tips section, perhaps a section
to cover alternative therapy (holistic healing), maybe something on
    feeding.

I'd be very interested to hear more about a publication and would be
grateful to receive it here in Reading!!
