1827.0. "funny award gift ideas?" by AKOCOA::LPIERCE (Aint goin' down) Fri Nov 12 1993 16:26

I need a horse'y idea for a gag/funny or pratical award gift to be
presented at our clubs award dinner in January. We give out
serious gifts and awards and we also give out funny and appropiate
    awards.

I want to give an award to the girl I share the barn with. She
is working fulltime and going to nursing school fulltime and she
still finds time for me and her horse, husband, housework. I
know her schedule and it's unreal! But, she's allwasy thinking
    of me and her horse.

I would love to get up infrount of our club and give a little
speach and present her w/ something ? ? but WHAT? I wanted
something that reflected her devotion to her horse and her
compasion for others...but what horse'y thing reflects that?

To bad, I can't get a stuffed horse dressed in a nurse uniform
    that would be great!

    Ideas?

Good idea, so why not follow it through? You could get a stuffed horse.
If you're handy, you could make something that looks like a nurse's
uniform for the horse. You could probably find a toy stethoscope and
thermometer that would be about the right size to go with the horse too.

A stuffed horse is simple, and there *must* be nurse uniforms
    made for large type dolls.

You could always get a manure fork, spray paint it gold, and
make up a plaque to go along with it. One plaque my parents
made up to give as a gag gift to a friend was one with a dried
chunk of cow manure, spray painted gold, and mounted on the plaque,
    with an engraved dedication underneath.

"For dedication, above and beyond the call of duty...."
