1799.0. "Mail order?" by ESSB::PHAYDEN (It's not how long it takes but how well you do it...) Mon Sep 13 1993 10:53

    Hello,
I'm looking for the names of any Mail order suppliers in Europe.
I've read note 583 and it seems that either the stores are in the
States or, as in the case of Giddens of London, do not supply
    	catalogs anymore.

I want to buy a new saddle as a 21st present for my
    	sister(Ca !) & horse(Bye Now !)
So if you can help with names & numbers I would appreciate it.

    	Thanks,
    		Peter.

P.S Failing European suppliers, if you have any listings for
suppliers in the Boston Ma. area that would be great also.

I'm afraid I can't comment on their selection or service when it comes
to something as big or important as a saddle.

    Hope this helps

Have you received your catalogue yet? I put it in the post last week.
I went to Robinsons last weekend and spent over 150 on rugs and feed
for the winter. If she goes lame now I will kill her!!!!!

Had a quick flick through. There's a lot of good stuff.

You could have just solved all my Christmas shopping problems as well
as my sisters 21st Birthday present one.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    P.S

If there's anything I can do for you don't hesitate
    to give me a shout.

Hope the expense was worth it.

Peter ,

B4 I came to work @ Digital I used to work in a saddlery shop :-))

This shop I'd highley recommend ...the name of the shop is

	Calcutt & Sons Ltd
	Bullington Lane
	Sutton Scotney
	Hampshire

	0962 760 210 (uk)

The Boss chap is called Ian ( can't remember his surname !!!)

These chaps make saddles made to measure and they made mine for my chap

whilst I worked there and it fits a treat ....!!!! :-)) Getting a saddle

to fit my chap with no withers wasn't easy !!!!

If anybody in the U.S. wants a copy of the latest Robinsons Catalogue
(U.K. Mail Order) send mail. This was an insert with the Sept 29 "Horse
and Hound" I bought before I left England so U.K. noters should easily
be able to get their own. In my view it's not significantly different
from U.S. equivalent but then I am not a catalog(ue) shopper.

I bought some stuff from Robinsons last year. Many of the prices are
similar to those in the US. However, the stuff I bought (STYLO boots,
Newmarket exercise rug, Hunter Wellies) was significantly cheaper than in
the US. So, depending on what you want and how long you're willing to
wait(took about 1 month to get an order to west coast of US), you might
    do well ordering from them.

I was very pleased with the products and the service. I FAXed in the
order. They gave me a quote within 1 week. They have to do arithmetic
on the order because the catalog prices include VAT(17% tax) which is
deducted from overseas orders. That about covered the shipping on my
order so it came out about even.
