| Is Cloud her registered name? Do you have to use the registered name
as the show name?
How about:
Ginger (her color)
Hot pepper (her color and temperament)
Fire and Ice (her temperament)

| Our liver chestnut has a similar markings on her face which can be called
a flame; when you add her fiery temperment an iridescent coat her name
is perfect for her: s. Flame.
Maybe you can work it in with Clou somehow, like Flae Cloud or just
plain Flame.

| I have the opposite problem, I would LOVE to change my horse's
registered name, Beau's My Buddy drives me crazy. I much prefer PeeWee
(he was smaller than I thought when he arrived).
My other horse is Maid By Favorite Day (Dallas), and then my father has
Okie Bo Gee Babe (Delta).

Sometimes simple is much better!

Same here, BTW. Ranger's Angel for a bay gelding just doesn't
cut it.....

| You guys have it good......I'm embarrased to admit this, but my horse's
registered name is, er, stammer, blush....Hope's Unicorn. I think
someone let their 3 year old name him. Poor Louie.
I do know that if the horse is a TB, you can usually show under any name
you like.
Good luck finding a name!

| Lynne, I rather like "Ranger", but the 'Angel" part does sound awfully
feminine for a gelding. What about simply dropping off the last part,
or did you want something more 'showy' sounding?
I've always felt my TB's racing name was about as bad as it can get.
It's "Comatose Kid". We call him CK, or Thug.
(and his sire was 'Unconcious'). Actually, with his dead quiet
temperment, it's rather appropriate. I do use his reg. name at shows,
it's always good for a chuckle or two outta the announcer. :-)

| Many years ago, a friend had a TB hunter that was by Quick Divorce out
of Alimony...everybody thought she should have named the mare
"Costs Plenty" or smotheing like that but she wouldn't have it. She
used a show name of "Executive Suite" and a barn name of "Sweetie"
because this mare had a real nice disposition.

Since my "baby" (8 is registered, I have to show him under
his registered name.....The AQHA allows name changes, but
he's 9, so I missed the boat.
