1701.0. "New Rider training/teaching device" by KAHALA::HOLMES () Fri Jan 15 1993 10:41
This week on Public TV was a show about Russian sports trainers
in Israel. I think the show was Scientific American on Wednesday.
Anyway they put this device in a runners shoes which 'beeped' as each
foot hit the ground. They then loaded this info into a computer
creating a model of how this guy ran.
They could measure that as he ran 400 meters his speed varied over
the course and suggested he run more evenly and shortened his stride.
I had always thought that if I had something that 'beeped' when I was
out of position while riding, it would be the perfect trainer. Like
having a comstant lunge lesson. A week or two of riding with this kind of
electronic/computer helper and my hunter two-point would be completely
replaced by the correct deep dressage seat.
Britches are kind of silly anyway so having something taped to your butt
can't be any worse. :-D.
Any EE's out there who could do something ?
