1689.0. "Cyst on Navicular Bone" by SEEPO::PIERCE (Ropein' the wind) Tue Dec 01 1992 09:16

My friend is horse-shopping and we found one we *might* want to look
at. There is one problem. He has a sist on his navicular(sp). He
does not have navicular and he as x-rays to prove it,,but what can a
sist on his navicualr mean? He is a 7yr old QH with 30 hunter points.

Is this a accident waiting to happen?

    A cyst?

Hmmm....my advice is to keep looking. There are many 100%
sound horses out there, so why take a chance?

We have been looking for along time.. we have not found what we are
looking for. This horse has everything we need/want. We are still
looking, but so far nothing compars to him. I'm sure we will pass on
him, but before I totally wrote him off, I wanted to dodubble check on
    the Cyst.

What did your vet say about it? Im sure it depends on the plans you
have for the horse, how stressful would his life with you be? Is he
intended for light trail riding or edurance, for example, or jumping
4' as opposed to no jumping plans, etc....I have a long talk with a vet
    you have confidence in.
