1666.0. "Reining Trainer / NE Mass area" by BRUONE::GARROW () Thu Oct 08 1992 11:40

    I reside in Chelmsford, MA and am interested in Reining lessons for me
    and my mare...anyone know of a local trainer. I know Tom McDowell does
    them and I've taken from him before (on his horse), but I was hoping
    for something closer to home.

    If there is another note, please point me in that direction...

    ALSO, how about team penning, that looks like fun...anyone know of
    someone in the area. I've seen ads for RI and CT, but nothign local.

    Thanks for any info or leads you can give me.

1666.2REINING TRAINERSNEMAIL::BETZLI'd rather be riding!Fri Oct 09 1992 16:2516
    There aren't many Reining trainers in this area. Bruce
    was going to Willow Brook Farms in Catasaqua, PA for
    all of his training. We purchaed several Willow Brook
    horses had them in training there so he was trying to
    go several times a month for lessons. If you horse is
    in training you get free lessons.....long haul 5 hours
    by car, 6 or more if you are pulling a trailer.....

    Depending on far you want to tavel...Lisa Boone is in Connecticut
    she is suppose to be pretty good....Jossette Conti is at
    Willow Brook, Rocky Dare is in NJ. Like I said no one
    really good around here .......

    Good Luck.

    There are quite a few western riders at Proctor Hill
    in Littleton MA. I ~think~ both Dottie and Martha
    give western lessons so someone there might be able
    to help you out.

    Since I'm not a western rider, I don't know what the h#$%
    reining is.
