| I know my club gives out coolers, belt buckles, directors chairs,
tack......many year end awards are donated from local business.

Along with the good suggestions in .1 how about:
bridle or halter bags in the person's/farm's stable colors...
riding gloves...
stall plaques or halter/bridle/saddle plaques...

| For the high point awards, I'm partial to the engraved plaques, it
gives the winner something to keep on the wall (or where ever) and
the huge multi-colored ribbons. For the other places, a cooler is
nice, and a gift certificate to a tack shop is a really nice idea, and
what about free membership in the club for the following year??

How about a gift certicate to an artist so that the winner could
have a beautiful charcoal drawing done of their horse! My mother
had one done of my horse when I was a younger and I will charish it
forever...

I have a couple of nice, cherry wood, picture frames with engraved plaques
on them. These were for individual classes, rather than a year end, but they
have the class names, the horse show name and the year on them. I love them
because I can hang them anywhere in the house, to display my prized pet and his
accomplishments year round :-)

Also, people could get gift certificates. Or, they could combine
money and get something else they wanted. Some of the things they
are getting are: Nylon sheet, rain cooler, satin cooler, barrel
racing breastcollar and an English bridle. Others took their award
money and added their own money to buy larger things like: an English
saddle, Western Saddle and a show halter.
All in all people seem happy with their choices. I'll find out
for sure at our banquet Feb 22!
