Because none of the suppliers reside in New England. Do
show keyword for catalogs, I have put a note in there for
Champion Harness and Equipment or somethiong like that. I
know the word Champion is in the company's name. They have
cheap bits. You will not find bits from the average horse
supply company, only thos that cater directly to TWH's or to
the saddle seat show world in general.
Why are you looking for this particular bit? What have you
been using and why do you think it's not working? Sometimes
if a horse is fighting the bit you are using, it is because
it prefers a milder bit, not because it requires a more severe
bit.

and another thing....you will RARELY acquire any kind of
used walking horse equipment, because it is so hard to
find up here and once we get it we won't part with it!!

| There is a tack shop in Concord NH that may have TWH stuff, I know
the owner has several Walkers herself, and shows and all. I went
there looking for a hunt bridle once, and she had oogles of full
bridles, and saddle seat saddles, etc (is it the same thing? Forgive
my ignorance, I know very little of Walkers). The tack shop is
Sign of the Horse. Is anyone else familiar with them? When I was
there the woman was raving about her Walkers, showing photos and
defending her stand about blocking their hooves for height with
another customer.

regarding Walking bits..
I took a Walking horse clinic for a week and we used about
7 different bits on her to find out what was the best bit
for her and it turn out to be a 6 inch shank with a broken
mouth piece. We did use a 1/2 check snaffle but, Lady
has a very bad habbit of dropping her head with it on.
I am using it when I use a driving bridle because she
can't put her head down.
I learn lots and lots from this clinic... There having
another one in May.
I will look under catalogs..
Thanks
Donna
