1456.0. "No More Barn Cleaning!!" by ISLNDS::GARROW () Tue Apr 23 1991 10:29

    This past winter I decided it was time to downsize to one horse.
     This meant find a home for my 17 yr old mare...which luckily I
    found her a great one.

    I now have one gelding and a walkout barn, and since I no longer
    have the mare I have not had to clean the barn. He has certain
    spots in the corrall that he uses. This was quite a suprise because
    I cleaned everyday and if I missed a day it was quite a mess!!

    I thought only Stallions did this!!

    Needless to say, I was reluctant to sell my mare but the unexpected
    decrease in care was a nice suprise!!

    Now if I could just get him to stop rolling in the mud...

    My gelding has "chosen" spots in his corral, too!

    Makes cleanup a breeze....Now, if only my other gelding
    would follow suit..

1456.3Horses are people too!FLYWAY::ZAHNDRWed May 01 1991 07:064
    I had a pony mare that was wonderful. She spot in one corner and that
    was it. Her stall was done in no time. I had a big gelding, his stall
    was always a mess. They are just like people. There are messy ones and
    there are the organized ones. Ha!
1456.4my horses are neat too.LUDWIG::ROCKTue May 07 1991 13:048
    Well I have 5 horses/ponies that are all neat. In the stalls and out
    side. they have special spots for going to the bathroom...and it makes
    it easy when you go into the field to chean up.

    On the other hand my SHEEP could take a lesson from the horses....they
    just leave the pellets all over the darn place!!!

    In my old stall cleaning days I remember 1 horse who was accused
    of being a real pig.

    Later I realized that he never stopped moving around in his stall.
    He may of done his business in 1 place but over time had everything
    all mixed like a blender.
