    I was at a stable last weekend and saw a horse eating his own manure. 
    The horse look fine (he didn't apperar to be neglected and wasn't
    thin).  I am wondering if this is a normal behavior?  I tend to think
    it isn't.  Although I have seen foals do this sort of thing.

	Yes, this is normal behavior. When a horse does this, it means he's lacking in minerals and vitamins. Patricia

	This is normal behaviour when the horse is lacking in minerals etc, buy a salt lick, and add some vitamins etc to his feed, and he should stop. Watch him, as it can become a habit. jayne

	It is a 50 lb red colored salt/mineral block that you want. Any feed store should carry it, and they should be under $10. Lynne

	Don't knock it until you've tried it. Manure might taste good.......
