1344.0. "Does Anyone Remember the Snows?" by AIMHI::DANIELS () Mon Aug 27 1990 16:19
Does anyone remember Camp Jo-Al-Co in Northwood, NH? I went there in
'69, '70 and '71. They closed shortly thereafter, and I've wondered
what ever happened to Cora, Al and daughter Joanne Snow. (Jo-Al-Co).
Anyway, they were a wonderful camp. All you did was ride and they had
excellent horses. Thirty girls to sixty horses with excellent
instruction in hunt seat, saddleseat or western.
The Snows lived in Brockton, MA during the winter months and had a
large stable there. They were very good people, took excellent care of
their horses and showed at the best shows in the area.
The camp was really in its prime during the '50s and '60s, when I was
there Co and Al were getting into very late middle age to very early old
age. If anyone knows what happened to them, I would appreciate hearing
about it.
Thank you,
Tina Daniels

They are still involved. I know I have seen Cora showing at the
NHH&TA shows and I believe her daughter has taken over their farm.
I know I saw an article on them this past winter I'll see if I can
dig it up for you.

In the last couple of Yankee Pedlars there have been ads (I think)
and show results for NHH&TA shows (like at Deerfield) and Joan has
been showing and doing very well w/some saddlebreds. I believe
that the camp is no longer in existance, but that Joan takes a few
horses in training, and Cora does still drive a pleasure horse
once in a while........
