             Can you help me find out about "Laramie" ?
             
    
    
    Am looking for info on background/breeding of a QH/Mustang mare.
    
    Chestnut with white blaze and Left Rear, Right Front stockings. 
    Aprrox. 14.2 hands
    
    Purchased about 1975 in or near Laramie, Wyoming as an unbroken
    2 yearold by a woman known only as "Mary".
    
    Has a "BAR J B" brand on right side of rump.
    
    
    Absolutely any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Even a _lead_ no matter how remote....

	Have you tried calling information in Laramie and asking for the ranch named the same as the brand? Just a thought....... L-

	Is this mare a BLM purchase? All horses from the BLM have a freeze brand on the neck that can be traced. You might also want to see if the State of Wyoming has a brand registration department that could tell you who owns the brand your mare wears. I know Colorado has a brand registration department and that they keep records of all the brands. Other than that I haven't a clue. Pat

	to .1 I wasn't aware one could do that... Many thanks! Will give it a try to .2 Also a good lead. I do believe she was the off spring of one of the "wild" mustangs... and a registered QH mare who got loose and found herself a "boyfriend" from the other side of the tracks ;-) Will double check for the brand anyway! Thanks again. But

	Maybe that was "Mustang Mary" as they called her. I think she's deceased now. She was a big advocate for saving the wild Mustangs and rescued many from the slaughterhouse, caring for them on her ranch.

	Yes, the afore mentioned "Mary" is deceased... Part of why it's been so difficult to rebuild the events surrounding Laramie. Do you happen to know where her ranch was? Or if someone else took over for her?
