Hi Linda,
Just a shot in the dark, BUT, a riding academy in Andover Mass.,
has the biggest selection of equine literature that I've ever
come across anywhere. You might try calling them to see if they
have the book. If not, they may be able to give you the title
and other information you need to order it.
I do not remember the name of the academy in Andover but someone
else may. It's on a major route near Andover Center, stables,
ring, and tackshop.

81.3 | More recommendations? | STNDUP::FOX | And onward we go... | Thu Nov 03 1988 12:45 | 21 |
| I finally found out the name of the book:
The Driving Horse and His Schooling written by Tjeerd Velstra.
I have called Dover and they don't have it.
If anyone happens to be at a tack store or any bookshop and sees
it, could they maybe keep me in mind and let me know where they
saw it? I am trying to find this both for myself and as a Christmas
gift for a friend.
Also, can anyone recommend any other books about driving (or
specifically combined driving?)
Thanks for all your suggestions so far and any more to come are
looked forward to!
Linda (who is actually thinking of adding combined driving to her
list of things to attempt doing :^))

81.4 | Try the regular Booksellers! | DCC::HERRING | | Tue Nov 08 1988 03:53 | 14 |
| Hello,
Have you found your book yet. I will be travelling through England
once or twice before Christmas. It may be available there.
However, your best bet it to go to a book store like Walenbooks
or B Dalten, they can order any book in print if you know atleast
the author and title.
If this dosen't work, let me know and I will look around London
on my next trip.

81.5 | In case anyone else is interested... | NOWIMP::DADDAMIO | Hopelessly optimistic | Thu Nov 10 1988 19:29 | 14 |
| I mailed info to Linda on this, but figured I'd post it too in case
anyone else was interested in the book. You can get it from:
Gladstone Equestrian Association
P.O. Box 119
Gladstone, NJ 07934
The book is: The Driving Horse and His Schooling by Tjeerd Velstra
and cost $40. You also need to include $3 for the usual postage
and handling. They have a lot of other driving related things (videos,
calendars, etc.). I found this info in the Chronicle of the Horse
(Christmas Mart issue).
