1191.0. "UK Cross Country Bibs" by SEDOAS::NEALE () Fri May 20 1988 08:32

    I am organising a 2 Day Event for my Riding Club in Surrey, UK,
    and am trying to get hold of 100 numbered bibs for the Cross
    Country Section. None of the saddlers I've tried sell them, and
    they can't suggest anywhere that does. Do any UK Notes readers
    know where I might get some?

    The sort I'm looking for are made of plastic or vinyl, with straps
    over the shoulders, ties at the sides and with numbers on the front
    and back.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Alison.

	 You might ask around at different places that hold horse trials
     or events to see if they might be willing to loan you their pinnies
     (as they're called in the US) or at least ask them where they got
     theirs from.

1191.2Regular Sporting Equipment Store?EQUINE::DANIFri May 20 1988 14:5712

    	I suspect you may be able to find them at a sports equipment
    store that sells to school systems. I seem to remember that they
    were used in some of the gym classes.

        I don't know if they are used in this manner in the U.K. but I
    thought it might be another place to look.

    Try Windsor Lions Club. They used to hold their sponsored ride some
    time in May (Windsor Berkshire).

    Which riding club. I used to belong to Egham and District.

    Good Luck

    Thanks for your ideas and suggestions. We would prefer to buy the
    bibs rather than borrow them because we will need them for other
    competitions too, but I have a few more ideas as to where to look
    now.

    Re .3: Linda, my Riding Club is Newlands Corner, near Guildford.
    I think we compete against Egham and District at the Area shows.

    Cheers,
