| I don't ride side saddle myself but my cuz does. She has three and
even rode the competative trail ride at Singing Hills Arabian Ranch
in a side saddle.
We have a shop here in town that had an old western style side saddle
for sale. I was tempted but figured I better learn more what I'm
doing astride first. Seems like this would be great fun for a costume
class. I've also heard it's easier on the horse when you're jumping.

THEM IN A DIFFERENT AREA EACH TIME TO MAKE IT FAIR TO EVERYONE.

SHE REPAIRS SADDLES AND HAS A TON OF SIDE SADDLES AND IS A SADDLE

| Would be interested in one. Let me know when you get more information.
Also would be interested in knowing where you are? more about side
saddle? did you take lessons? were you self taught?
I was thinking of looking into it for my gelding...western not english
as his style is western.
Would appreciate any help that you might give me.

| I ride western side saddle. I took a few lessons just so that I
would start myself off right. And since then, I have been self taught.
I am not all that good yet at it, but I have had fun hitting a few
shows and riding it. I have even placed within the top 3 placing
at open shows and all breeds show.
I have appaloosas and i ride both my mare and gelding side saddle.
But I must warn you. It take a good natured animal to do this. Just
for your own safty. It is alot of fun. I also have a bad back (disk)
and find it more confortable to ride this way.
I will let you know on the sheep skins. You may want to chek the
want ad for used side saddles or call Sue Gregg in Woodstock, conn.
She rebuilds and sells side saddles. i bought my western on from
her. I will also bring in her phone number for you. there is a
side saddle club in new england. Nice group of folks.

| Some years ago I had a side-saddle lesson at Wellington Riding (on
the A33 at Heckfield). They have the tack, horses and instructors.
I shall be up there at the weekend; if I remember I'll check that
the facility is still available and how much it costs. If you want

| As promised, here are the details on Wellington Riding. The good
news is that they do still provide side-saddle instruction. The
bad news is that it is not cheap. Unless you can get a group together
they will charge private lesson rates, that is �22.70 per hour.
They have one or two side-saddles and suitable horses, but obviously
if you want to get a group together you will need to provide your
own (and negotiate with the management). If you're still interested
the telephone number is Reading (0734) 326308 and their office is
open from 9am to 5.30pm every day.
