2154.0. "decnetsetup fails with off LAN DNS server" by BPSOF::PURI () Tue Apr 01 1997 03:38
When running 'decnetsetup' we receive the following error msg:
Could not connect to remote Phase IV server:
dcp: can't open "4.101::SYS$LIBRARY:DNS$NS_DEF_FILE.DAT", Access control
rejected
Unable to communicate to remote DNS server
decnetsetup terminated.
(DECnet/OSI: V3.2a)
Environment: there is a central site running DNS server sw (4.101) and lots of
remote sites that are DNS clerks. The remote sites are connected to the central
site via 2 Mbps links. Installation of the first 2 remote sites succeeded, the
subsequent 4 failed with same error message above. The hw and the sw version is
the same on all sites.
Can anybody explain why a UNIX requests a VMS-style file from another UNIX and
what do we wrong?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:
Laszlo
