CA will stop selling OpenVMS POLYCENTER products, perhaps PSDC, PSPA,
and PSAC, on July 1. V2.3 of these products will be available only
from June 2 to June 30. Customers who have update contracts receive
upate kits from MCS. From July 1 only Unicenter TNG will be available.
Has anyone made comparisons of POLYCENTER perfromance family and TNG on
OpenVMS? How can we collect and analyze OpenVMS performance data as
the same dgree as DECps?

Announcing the availability of new versions of selected POLYCENTER products
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Computer Associates has announced the cancellation of the point POLYCENTER
products on OpenVMS effective July 1, 1997. There is a migration plan that
will allow existing POLYCENTER on OpenVMS customers to migrate to Unicenter
TNG at no charge (maintenance fee will apply) until March 31, 1998. There
has been no announcement for the Digital UNIX POLYCENTER products, but we
are expecting a similar announcement for those products within two months.
What this means is no one can order OpenVMS point POLYCENTER products after
June 30, 1997 from either CA or Digital.
In the meantime, we are happy to announce that the new releases of selected
POLYCENTER products on both OpenVMS and Digital UNIX are orderable from
Digital beginning Monday June 2, 1997. The attached is a list of the part
numbers and long descriptions for the orderable products. Please note that
some of the concurrent products may take until Wednesday May 4 to be active
on the pricefile and all of the part numbers may take significantly longer
in Europe and APA. The products that are currently orderable are:

If your customer orders these products, they will receive a package
containing a CDROM, license PAK, documentation, and licensing terms and
conditions. All of this will originate from CA and will be delivered to the
customer from a CA location near the customer. None of these part numbers
are MCS update kits. Customers who have support contracts from Digital will
be receiving their update kits directly from Digital MCS.
The way CA has agreed to work the quoting and ordering of these products
customers can order the OpenVMS products until June 30, 1997. If a customer
has an outstanding quote, Digital and CA will honor that quote until it
expires. The quote will not be renewed.
