A customer complains some display problems when using ADVICE/INTERFACE=MOTIF when the display is set to a workstation running CDE (Common Desktop Environment). I can easily reproduce the problems on my workstation. There are no problems if I run the Motif Desktop (MWM). The main issue is that in the Data Selection window, the topmost frame (... Data to be Analyzed ...) hides the first two entries of the node buttons. It seems that the problems are due to the different default fonts iused by the CDE. I have played a lot with the PSPA$RT_DEFAULTS.DAT and DECPS$RESOURCES.DAT but have not been able to change the fonts used in this window. Before I go through the hassle of writing a IPMT, - is this problem known? - is there, or will there be a solution? - for a workaround: may I get the UIL file of this form to get the names of the objects (to change their resources)?
