I just found this notesfile a few days ago, and left a long rambling
reply in 260.2 about Lake Quassapaug Park. I have to consider myself
lucky to have grown up near this park, especially when I see all the
noters here who have to travel long distances...for me it was a short
twenty minute bicycle ride - no big hills, either! ;^)
Even though Quassy had no large coaster - just the Wild Mouse - it was
a genuinely wonderful place for children "of all ages" and obviously
planted a love for rides in me.
In recent years, I have enjoyed other New England coasters at Whalom
Park, Canobie Lake, Rocky Point and Riverside. Though I haven't been
to these parks in a while, I read these notes here and I am feeling a
SERIOUS bug taking hold....warmer weather's on the way, and it's high
time I get back into the amusement park scene. In the meantime, I'm
waiting for April to begin, sitting in a clean room and hearing the
Quassy carousel music in my head.....**sigh**
