948.0. "DNS Clerk or not to Clerk" by ACISS2::FLOYD () Wed Mar 26 1997 13:58
    Digital Unix V3.2G
    Decnet OSI V3.2b

    We do not use DNS.

We configure decnet using decnetsetup advanced
    The decnetsetup_defaults follows:

    ethel:~# cat decnetsetup_defaults
    DEFFULLNAME LOCAL:.ethel
    DEFSYNONYM ethel
    DEFIVADDR 0
    DEFNET1 47:0005:8000070000000407200C:08002be2733c:00
    DEFNET2 0
    DEFAUTOCONF n
    DEFDTSSCLERK n
    DEFDTSSSERVER n
    DEFCONFIGDOTI y

However, there is still a process running as follows:

    1051 ?? IW 0:00.49 /usr/sbin/dnsclerk -U root -u 0 -g -3 -m
    0

    Why?

If I run decnetsetup and respond "Y" to "DNS Clerk Only", then
    I get two "dnsclerk" processes.

Which way should it be configured?

    THanks,
    Gary

| | A better place to ask this would probably be noted::dnu_osi since it's a
conference specific to the UNIX implementation of DECnet/OSI.
