| ME. I get to do 3 laps (90K = 54 miles). My teammate Kevin Johnson ought to be
in the field. I'll look behind me for you when we're lining up. We go 3
minutes ahead of you.

| "Cloudy with the chance of showers and possibly a
thunderstorm late in the day. High around 65."
It's possibly a not-so-nice day to race, but we could make out all right. It
won't start raining until we're done racing!

3201.4 | Yeah, in Boston! | WMOIS::GIROUARD_C | | Fri May 02 1997 12:09 | 8 |
| That forecast is for the Boston area. The storm is moving west-to-east.
Being almost on the New York border means it's going to start a lot
sooner there than here.
I hope you're right, though.

3201.8 | I washed out... | WMOIS::GIROUARD_C | | Mon May 05 1997 07:33 | 10 |
| Well, I bagged the race because I didn't feel like driving two hours to
race through the rain in 45 degrees. The guy I was going to go with
opted out as well.
Two of our Cat 3s went. One dropped after 3 miles because it was so
miserable, but the other guy stuck with it.
I went to the Old Mill with my wife and had lunch. Crap day!

| I toughed it out for 26th place in the SR4/5 field. Quite a few abandons on the
first lap, and the second and third laps had a field and a chase group. It was
a 54.5 mile ride with a one mile attack up the final hill for the win. My legs
were like frozen metal rods at this point, so I couldn't really put in the
sprint. I spun like mad the last few miles to try and warm the legs up too.
