| Many times the community/continuing education classes at local high schools
will teach basic maintenance or repair classes. I get the flyers from
minuteman (lexington, ma), nashoba (westford, ma), assabet (bolton, ma)
programs, and at least one had a class this spring.
Of course you could ask here, youll get 32 replies with 32 different
suggestions and diagnoses....

| I used to run them in the winter with the seven hills wheelmen.
It would last about 5 to 6 weeks, taking apart on major component
group at a time. We charged a large fee of $10.00.
I wish I had the time to do it again, but with kids it is difficult.
My general suggestion is to get involved in local bike clubs, there
are a lot og of good people willing to help.

HighRoads bike shop in Stoneham, MA has had weekly classes in the past. I have
not taken them, but friends of mine have. I don't have a number handy, but
I'm sure they're in the book.

| Belmont Wheelworks offers (offered over the winter anyway) such classes,
including 1-on-1 instruction. (617) 489-3577 [I didn't even need to look that
up, sadly enough]

Patty,
Monty tech just had a class on bike maintainence. It was given by Darin
Smith and Scott Kingsman. Both work at Gamaches Cyclery. The first
class was at the school, and then they moved down to the shop. They
started with how to fix a flat tire, and when thru the basic adj on the
bike, breaks, shifters, etc...
