| I forgot to mention that the category of riders that show up is quite
diverse, women, younger riders, older riders, slow riders, fast riders,
etc.
Don't keep yourself away from this. Time trials are one of the most
important training events you can include in your riding schedule.

| The last note for last year's 140 wondered what Chris Boardman's time
would be? Probably down around 22:00, judging by the best time
that's ever been turned on 140 -- 24:28 by Stephen Swart, who beat
Davis Phinny by half a minute. Swart later rode for Motorola in
the TdF, and he'd be about 7-10 minutes back in an 85k TT. Gotta
remember, though, for Motorola Swart was a domestique. Often they don't
do good TTs just because they've been working their butts off for
their team leaders.
This year watch Chip finally get his 27:59 (and probably faster ;).
Me? I'm so out of shape right now, you won't see me out there 'til
June at least.
Do this, folks. It's the best evening TT even I've been to in 24 years
of racing (and there were some beauts when I was in Burlington VT).

If they decide to plan out a 10-mile, downhill course, with
breaks every 5 minutes for coffee and cigarettes, then I'd
consider trying it out.

hour and a half to indulge without breaking a sweat! :-)

| Something funny is going on with me this year. I'm
two full minutes slower than I really should be
right now. I'm hoping it's allergies and the lack
of road miles due to a wet spring.
If things don't begin to improve I'm heading for the
doctor. I'm just feeling too fatigued and sore/acky.
Of course, I am a year older. That would even be a
relief if that's all the doctor found :-)...

| Yup, Shawn. TTs are relative. It really depends on who shows up
most of the time unless you're stratifying some classes, e.g.
age, sex, category, etc...
Did I mention these guys were at least 6 years younger than me :-)?
Acutally, one is a pretty fast triathlete who held the Rte 12 course
record up until two weeks ago and the other is a former sponsored
Category 3 rider. I don't feel bad at all.
the time trial is one of the few races that are against the clock.
