3051.0. "Cannondale U300 info wanted" by CSSE::SLAVIN () Wed Feb 28 1996 12:19

I am thinking of buying a Cannondale U300, mixte frame.

Does anyone have any comments/suggestions? Experience with this
    model?

I can get it for about half of retail, but don't want to let that be
    the main purchasing factor.

    Thanks!

i personally never recommend a mixte frame. they serve no purpose and
the frames are inherently weaker by design.

mixte were originally designed for women back in the dark ages so that
they could cycle with full length dresses on. if this is the type of
riding you're planning to do, then go ahead.

I'm really quite surprised they still make mixte frames for aduts.

in my opinion, you'd be much better off with a full frame. accessories
are much easier to deal with.

I think I've narrowed it down to the Cannondale H30, H200 or
    Trek 720 or 730.

    Any comments?

    Thanks!

Any of these bikes are fine. What are you going to do with it?
Do they have the size you need?

If you are getting a good deal, I would go for the higher of the
models, components would be better thus lighter and last longer.
This may encourage you to ride more.
