I did this ride yesterday...it was my first club organized ride/event,
    yes it was an EVENT!!

My brother and I traveled down to do the 7Hills Wheelmen's off road
ride. But due to the rain only the ride leader was there and he was
about to leave to go to the NEMBA ride/event. We took his suggestion
and followed him to the gun club...WERE WE EVER GLAD WE DID!!

This ride was an absolute BLAST..17 miles of knarly, slippery, muddy
mean and nasty single track. This area was VERY interesting and
challenging, I fell twice in the first half hour %^} both times over
the top! The trails were well marked, water and juice provided at about
halfway, all of the other riders were friendly with spirited jousting
    for positions.

There was a blues band playing at the gun club after with bugers and
things on sale. Lots of tailgating Bar-B-Queing and brewskis too. Over
200 riders had signed up when we got back in at 1ish and the "Guy"
expected 30 to 50 more now that the sun had come out.

NEMBA did one heck of a great job!! I only hope they didn't spoil me
    for any other organized event...

     Muddied, bruised but HAPPY

YES! It was a good outing. The weather was excellent.
Enough rain in the morning to soften the ground 8') and enough sun
in the afternoon to dry everyone up. NEMBA did a great job! The
trail was typical New England variety with a couple of rocky sections.

I'm not too sore today, but I did experience the dreaded
lactic acid quadracep lockup.....OOOWWWWW! On the ground, curled up
in a ball for about 3 minutes til I could stretch em' out again.
Luckily there was noone around to watch. I should've
rested with the rest of the pack.

Everyone was real friendly and helpful!!! Can't wait to
    do it again.

Yeah, that was me. While I was laying on the ground, I kept expecting
the youngster (about 12yo) of the pack, to pull up to me and say:

    		 "Hey Mister, whatsa matter?"

    		 Eh....Oooh....nothing kid.....argh, ooh groan...

    						.....just resting.

The guy who was 'leading' the pack stopped at just about the right
intervals. Wish my adrenaline would've let me too.

All in all a great day!! (but that's what it's all about!)
