2918.1 | They don't exist | NEMAIL::FISHER | | Tue Mar 21 1995 08:56 | 12 |
| Those who are into biking alot more than me may know of one, but
I just concluded the search and purchase of an MTB in this price
range. There are really no discount bike shops around. I found most
shops to be within $25-50 of each other and willing to match the
price. Also, because I needed a small frame and they don't make
alot proportionally. This is the biggest time of the year to buy
bikes, your best bet is to find a 94. Otherwise, what I did was
go back to my local shop and deal on accessories...free shoes
and 20% off all other accessories I bought with the bike. These
prices were equal to or better than mailorder.

| There is a bi-annual nation wide sale that many bike shops participate
in. I think its around April 1. I believe there is a discount on
just about everything in the store ... including bikes.
I know Goodales in Nashua participates but I'm sure there are many
others.
Good Luck,
Larry

2918.7 | High Road | ABACUS::JASINSKI | | Thu Mar 30 1995 08:47 | 9 |
| I saw that Boston Globe article too. I thought the store was in
Woburn, but it could have been Stoneham. Anyway, the name of it is
High Road, and its scheduled to open sometime in April. According to
the article, the store will include an indoor track to test out their
bikes.
