The Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation and Construction (ETOC) and
its Bureau of Transportation Planning and Development (BTP&D), in cooperation
with the Regional Planning Agencies, are compiling an inventory of existing and
potential bicycle facilities statewide. The Bicycle Coalition of Massachusetts
(BCOM) under contract with EOTC/BT&D will compile this inventory to be used as
the basis for bicycling planning for the state and the Southeastern Regional
Planning Commision and the Old Colony Planning Council.
Bicycle facilities include:
Signed bike routes and shared roadways
bike paths/trails off roadway rights of way
bike paths/trails adjacent to roadways
bike lanes
bicycle parking racks and/or lockers
bridge access improvements
The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning District meeing will be held on
Tuesday, January 31, 1995, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at
Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission

The public is invited to attend and to submit maps, descriptions and other
information on potential bicycle facilities at this meeting or to send such

Directions:
From I-290 Eastbound
Take Exit 14 (Route 122 South/Posner Square/Grafton). At end of ramp, turn
left onto Grafton Street. Proceed until you reach the Washington Square
Rotary. CMRPC is located in the Protector Group Building a little more than
halfway around the rotary.
From I-290 Westbound
Take Exit 16 (East Central Street/Downtwon Worcester). Bear right at end o
ramp onto East Central Street. Take first left at traffic signal onto Summer
Street and proceed to Washington Square rotary. Immediately upon entering the
rotary, the entrance to the Protector Group Building is the first right.
From Mass Pike, I-395, and Route 146 (all points South and West)
Proceed onto I-20 East bound. Take Exit 14 (Route 122 South/Posner
Square/Grafton). At end of ramp, turn left onto Grafton Street. Proceed until
you reach the Washington Square Rotary. CMRPC is located in the Protector
Group Building a little more than halfway around the rotary.
From Route 9 Westbound
At traffic signal at the top of Belmont Hill, bear left onto Shrewsbury
Street. (Across from the biotech park.) Follow Shrewsbury Street to the
Washington Square roatary. CMRPC is located int the Protector Group Building a
little more than one-quarter around the rotary.
From Mass Pike Interchange 11 (Rte 122)
After passing through the toll booth, take a left onto Route 122 North
(Grafton Street). Follow Grafton Street for approximately 3.75 miles until
you reach the Washington Square rotary. CMRPC is located in the Protector
Group Building a little more than halfway around the rotary.
Alternate parking lot
If the parking lot is full, space should be available in th elot on the south
side of bridge street. (Off Summer Street, one block before Washington
Square).
(poster's note: if the commuter rail lines from Boston ran at these hours the
train would be a viable option for people coming from Boston as the station is
across the square from the Protector Group Building.)

The Bicycle Coalition of Massachusetts has a contract from the Massachusetts
Highway Department to survey existing and needed bicycle facilities across
the state. Part of the process is a series of public meetings, the dates
of which are given below. Information concerning locations and times will
be posted as soon as it is available. Please plan to attend the meeting(s)
closest to your home and workplace.
