2810.0. "Tiverton - TFCE info?" by STUDIO::ROSE () Wed Jul 06 1994 12:49

Haven't seen this year's request for Tiverton info yet, so
here it is. If anyone has registation/schedule information
for The Flattest Century in the East it would be much
    appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Jamie

    	Jamie,

A friend has the form at home. He's going to give it to me,
which I'll copy and send to you and a friend of mine who wants
    	one.

Well, Paul and I finished this thing.

Ride time was 7 hours. Lots of wind. Hillier than we expected.

Real cloudy at 75 miles, but no rain.

No pain today but tired legs.

We chose to do the Connecticut Valley Century on the tandem instead.
It was less of a drive in the morning since we had a place to stay
out there. My captain said he would argue that this century is the
    	flattest one in the East.

<- Which one does he think is the flattest?

I've done the Covac and it "pancake city"...

If you really want flat, then venture down to Salisbury Maryland for one of
their "Cycling to the Sea" centuries. I was down there for GEAR this year. All
the climbing that you'll do is in a couple of highway overpasses and a bridge or
two over water; lots of headwinds though.

Maybe the Bonneville Salt Flats? I hear that's pretty flat :-)
