Anymore news on the problem with AVOCET 50 and batteries...since
I have replaced the original batteries (which have lasted over
one year) any new pair of batteries (yes the right type ie 186
alkaline etc...) only last a max of 2-4 weeks...
I read in previous topics sereval tricks which I have tried but without
any success, I was wondering if there was anybody out there with an
explanation.

Try Radio Shack's "386" type.

FWIW,
Cheapest place to buy replacement batteries for an Avocet 50
in the GMA area: Spag's (the watch counter). 386 type is 95
cents ($1 with tax). kb
