Can anyone recommended a bicycle storage rack? I have approached our Facilities Department about putting in bicycle racks for our facility. Currently there are none. Just sign posts in the ground. What are other facilities doing? Are bikes allowed to be stored in offices? Any ideas on the cost of racks? I've been told due to our financial problem they can look into it but no promises. We also have a parking problem so possibly there is a tradeoff. One design I have seen is a U design in which the bicycles front forks are placed over the U. The rack looks similar to |UUUUUUUUU|. Another idea was brought up was 2 6x6 posts put in the ground on either ends with a steel post running through them. I can see that this will limit the number of bikes which can be locked to it. Does anyone have any comments on these designs? Cheers Allan

Allan The CTH facility here in Hull has opted with a rack being built by; BIKE-UP Bikeup Canada INC. 13 Bateman Drive Nepean Ontario K2G 4Z3 613 226-6452 The racks have not been delivered as of yet, but I have used the rack, as they are used by Nepean Parks and Recreation. |
