2735.5 | Bike ride across georgia | BALMER::MUDGETT | Head of Putty Patrol | Fri Mar 11 1994 19:48 | 11 |
| Great note....
My fav. is Bike Ride Across Georgia. This has been around for like 15
years and this year it will go from the Southwest corner to the atlantic
ocean. It will happen the week of June 11. The cost of the ride is usually
around $40.
I've done this ride 5 times and each year it gets alittle better organized.
They have had between 1800 and 2700 riders.

2735.8 | A Northwest US Ride | LUDWIG::ASMITH | | Tue Mar 15 1994 12:52 | 7 |
| Another good ride is the Monstrous Seattle (WA) To Portland (OR)
ride. The ride was 204 Miles in one day or 102 Miles per day when I
did it in 1986. The crowd for this race is big ( one year 10000
people rode eventhough many people were turned away ). The Cascade Bicycle
Club ( Seattle ) along with the Portland Wheelmen, used to sponsor the ride.

If you want to ride it you better move quickly. Last year it filled 10,000
riders in three and a half weeks from the Bicycle Expo. The Bicycle Expo
was February 25 and 26 this year.

| This book lists a number of cross-state tours in its appendix. It's a pretty
good summary of a number of tours. Just noticed it at the bookstore.
