2720.0. "Getting out of the snow" by NOVA::FISHER (US Patent 5225833) Wed Feb 02 1994 08:34

    BIG BEND TOUR	March 4-13
    420 miles, 47-78 per day
$630, 9 days, INTERMEDIATE level skills required

The Big Bend Tour takes cyclists through awesome scenery of a last
frontier - Texas. The route begins and ends in Fort Davis; in between
you'l visit Alpine, Marfa, Presidio, Lajitas, Terlingua, Big Bend
National Park, and Marathon. Roll through the Davis Mountains, cross
the Chihuahua Desert and ride the Camino Del Rio along the Rio Grande.
two days rest let you relax in Lajitas (rafting down the Santa Elena
Canyon) and Chisos Basin, BiG Bend National Park. An option Pre-Day 1
ride takes in the 74 mile Davis Mountain Scenic Loop. (Lodging not
    included for this day.)

For the summer, I might bypass this tour, but for March, hey the
check's in the mail. Anyone interested? I'll see about getting more
info to you, obviously time is of the essense to get your money in.
They cancel the tour if they don't get 10 signups.

As for HeartCycle Tours, the ride leader and sag driver are volunteers
and once in a while there's a bummer tour but the majority of their
tours that I heard about are excellent as was the one I went on last
year. The sag truck provides luggage transport and lunch stops as
    well as portage when needed.

I found this tour to be especially interesting because we had been
planning to go to Hell Week in North Texas March 12-19, so the
plan if to get in 2 weeks of early season cycling. Besides, I
just have to use 7 weeks of vacation this year. :-)
