Fitchburg Cycle Club Century September 26th Starts at Royal Plaza Hotel just off Route 2 in Fitchburg. Its exit 28 off of Route 2 as you head West. Registration opens at 7am. Cost $10 includes complete SAG wagon support. You'll be given a number to call at the hotel, and they will have mobile communication to the SAG wagon. $5 for the 35mi course. Distances 35mi, metric century, full century. Very challanging course which is VERY HILLY. Also for extra added adventure an option to go up Mt.Wachusetts. This isn't a beginner's ride or course. The course itself is VERY HILLY. My guess would be that we'd come in 6+hrs. For additional information call Darron at 508-632-7032

I'll support Charlie's assessment. I did the course two weeks ago. You'll cook easily if you push this one (I called it severely rolling). I think Ken Lecomte and myself pulled something around a 6:20-ish (total time including stops). Saddle time was approximately 5:40-ish. We worked at a moderate level (on average) e.g. worked hard here, slacked off there... We also ended up doing the last 20+ in the rain. I'd like to do it again - dry... Beautiful country ride - traffic should be virtually non-existent (as is civilization :-))... Some good roads, some bad. Hope to see you there! Chip This is a 106 mile ride. |
