| Just as comfortable as my trusty old Rolls!

2628.4 | maybe just a little narrow at the back | BIGBAD::GULICK | Those dirty rings !! | Tue Aug 03 1993 10:20 | 5 |
| It's comfortable but I do notice if I'm in the saddle up a hill, my butt will
slide halfway off the back but it may just be my seat is too low. Never had this
problem with the stock Vetta racing saddle on the same bike.

2628.5 | contrasting opinion | LASSIE::ZIELONKO | | Tue Aug 03 1993 11:18 | 4 |
| rode one a week or two when i had a friend's trek 5500 to play with. i thought
it was ungodly uncomfortable. however it is worth saying that my seat position
on the bike was lower than i normally ride on because the frame was a tad too
small. this may have been the cause of my discomfort.

2628.6 | | BYCYCL::FISHER | US Patent 5225833 | Tue Aug 03 1993 11:53 | 9 |
| I got used to it very quickly last year when I got my 5500. Then after
riding my solid leather Ideale to Wisconsin last year -- and the
associated 3 week's of riding and vacation, it took me a whole month to
get used to the Flite again. WHen I saw Flite's available for 59.99
this year I bought a couple so I wouldn't have to go through that
again. That and an American Classic seat post took 1 pound off my
touring bike -- which I compounded by using my 320 gm LOOK pedals. :-)

2628.7 | I like mine..... | CARTUN::VINCENT | | Tue Aug 03 1993 14:32 | 5 |
| I found the saddle comfortable from the first mile on......I also
have one on my MTB.
Anybody tried the Carbon Fiber model? Nashbar has them on sale and
I'm thinking about one for my TT bike

I have to agree with most of the other replies here. I replaced my
Vetta VSA gel saddle with the Flite Ti. I think the Flite is more
comfortable, and half a pound lighter.

2628.10 | BOTH ARE GREAT (IMHO) | WMOIS::GIROUARD_C | | Mon Aug 16 1993 13:41 | 4 |
| I have both (the carbon on roadie and the regular on my TT) Both
are as comfortable as anything I've used...

2628.14 | THEY'RE CATCHING ON... | WMOIS::GIROUARD_C | | Tue Aug 17 1993 15:39 | 6 |
| I've seen them but can't provide names. I believe the ads mentioned
Bugno too...
I can verify that a ton of them are showing up at the races.

2628.15 | Ti heads | NWD002::REID_PA | SI - Lookin' for a bigger hammer | Mon Oct 17 1994 13:23 | 13 |

Browsing through the '95 products in this month's Bicycling magazine and
noted the latest in Ti fashions. Troxel has developed the Ti helmet. No
weight was listed, the report simply stated: "[The helmet] uses a strong
titanium shell the reportedly allows the use of less foam, making for a
smaller profile and less weight". Price around $200.
The picture makes it look kind of Darth Vaderish (at least from the nose up)
since it has an integrated, gray mirrored, face shield. Wonder what's next
... perhaps a Ti exoskeleton that keeps you from breaking your collar bone
when performing headers?
