2571.0. "National Championships in Boston" by CSLALL::BITTENBENDER (A1 @DAS, DTN 275-2566) Wed May 19 1993 15:20
One of the best kept secrets in recent months has been the fact that Boston
will be hosting a major USCF national championship race this weekend. MIT
and Breakaway Promotions are putting on the National Collegiate Cycling
Championships in Cambridge on May 22,23. There will be 250 (Cat 1&2)
riders competing in 3 races.
Road Race - May 22 8:00-4:00 Belmont/Arlington/lexington
Road Race - yes, an urban road race. The
course is 7.2 miles. Start in Arlington, up
Belmont hill, under rt2, mass ave in lexington,
and back to arlington. This may be one of the
most challenging road layouts in New England.
Team Time Trial - May 23 8:00-12:00 The LONG Concord -
Carlisle course. Start just west of Concord to
rt 225, to rt62 in Bedford to finish in downtown
Concord.
Harvard Crit - May 23 1:00-5:00 The old Wheat Thins course
around Harvard Yard. All Harvard Sq. and Mass Ave
will be closed for the race. One kilo course
should be VERY FAST.
All should be outstanding events. For more information see this weeks Boston
Phoenix or call Breakaway promotions at 617-244-1577.
