2466.0. "Christmas `92 (What do I want / What did I get)" by VO2MAX::DELORIEA (I've got better things to do.) Wed Nov 25 1992 10:38

I figure we had fun with last years what do I want for Christmas note,
why not start another for this year.

List your wish list and after Christmas we can all see what Santa brought us.
I think we'll find out who was naughty or nice this past year.

For me buying a mountain bike has open a Pandora's box of things I'd like to
get. MTB's have more accesories and parts that just beg for you to buy them.
Not like road bikes. Innovation comes much faster with MTB's

My wish list

Onza aluminum L shape bar ends

Camel Back 32oz size (From a person that laughed at this idea not long ago. I
			want one for MTB riding in rainy muddy days. I have
			covers for the spout, but the mud all over the bottle
			gets on my gloves and makes for a wet slippery grip.)

If I win Mega Bucks

A front SHOX

2466.1I've been a good girl, really!NOVA::NALESue Nale MildrumWed Nov 25 1992 10:4624
	Allsop Frankenstem
		it's gotten great reviews in the magazines and I think it'll
		help keep my hands more comfortable. The vibrations from
		mtn biking really bother me.

	Terry Ti Racing saddle
		ok, ok, I give! I'll buy some Ti! Also hoping to find
		comfort, finally.

	Giro Air Attack SC
		(Extra Small, in case anyone is feeling generous)
		My old Bell Quest is just looking tres gooby.

	Ooh, I hope Santa is feeling generous!! I'm usually pretty good at
	guessing what I'll get, so my first guess is that I'll get the
	Frankenstem. It'll be interesting to see if I'm right.

	BTW: I ended up buying the Ultegra STI for my hubby. I know he'll
	freak 'cos he's convinced I'm getting him a watch. I told him that
	I'd asked for expert advice in this conference on whether we could
	get STI to work on his bike with his current setup and the consensus
	was 'no'. He said he'd gladly buy new Ultegra deraileurs if Santa
	would only bring him the STI.

2466.3Brooks takes a back seat for a whileTEMPE::HUFFAKERThu Nov 26 1992 01:2821
    I hung up one of my Brooks Pro saddles and replaced it with a Flite
    saddle on my Vitus. I really hated to remove the Brooks but I thought
    I would give some new technology a try. I will keep Brooks on all my
    other bikes until I see how the Flite works out. That is/was my
    Christmas gift to myself in advance.

2466.4Treks for ChristmasLJOHUB::WOODWARDThu Dec 17 1992 11:2229
If you're looking for TREK bikes this Christmas, here's a
list of dealers and prices. We finally decided on a 1992 950
MTB from Naults. He has two more '92 950s in stock.

I liked Chelmsford Cycle alot. They do price matching, offer
two services with a purchase, and have very pleasant and up
to date staff.

We chose Naults because of the 92s on sale, and their location.

    Christmas presents for Chip:-

    	The new car from McLaren has a Ti toolkit to reduce weight.
    Drawback? 530,000....

    	More realistically, there is now toothpaste that comes in a Ti tube
    to reduce weight for tourists...

     Thanks for thinking of me, Graham. I think the toothpaste thing is a
    big waste, however... Now, Powerbar wrappers or something like that
    would make more sense... :-)
