The White Mountain National Forest Service has announced plans for White

2320.3Items from the March 3rd N.H.M.B.A. meetingGEMA::IVERSENThu Jun 11 1992 17:4725

	- N.H.M.B.A. Gets Involved: A sub-commitee was formed to create an
	  educational program. The goal is to have a multi-media program
	  that can be brought to local schools that will emphasize _responsible_
	  mountain bike riding practices. The group believes that if they can
	  impress the younger riders, future trail closings can be avoided.

	- N.H.M.B.A. Adopts the I.M.B.A. Riders Code:

		1. Ride on open trails only
		2. Leave no trace
		3. Control your bicycle
		4. Always yield trail
		5. Never spook animals
		6. Plan ahead

	- N.H.M.B.A. Goes Official: The N.H.M.B.A. has become affiliated
	  as member clubs with the National Off-Road Bicycle Association.
	  The club has also been registered with the State of New Hampshire
	  as a non-profit corporation. Sponser shops can sanction NORBA
	  events when they join.

	- N.H.M.B.A. Gets Busy: The N.H.M.B.A. plans to continue it's role
	  as a partner in the White Mountain Trails Day 1992. See reply #2.
2320.4Summer Group Ride #1 20-Jun-1992GEMA::IVERSENFri Jun 19 1992 09:2613
Join the NHMBA for the next fun ride. This time we'll ride from Waterville
Valley up Tripoli Road through Thornton Gap, and down onto the Brown Ash
Swamp Mountain Bike Trail. At the South end of the trail we pick up some
forest roads that lead to the Dickey Notch Mountain Bike Trail. Then we'll
pedal up rte 49 back into Waterville Valley. It's about a 22 mile ride, with
about half off-road. The Brown Ash Swamp section can be nasty after a rain,
so we'll have an alternate route in mind for wet weather.

Be sure to bring plenty of food and water, as this is about a 3 - 3 1/2 hour
ride. Some bug dope would be appropriate also.

We will meet at Mountain Valley Bikes at the Town Square in Waterville Valley
at 10am on Saturday June 20th. Be there !!!
