2222.0. "Rentals in MA/CA ?" by 52925::MCGRATH () Mon Mar 30 1992 03:24

    I'm off to the US on vacation for most of the month of May. The plan is
    to stay in Mass (Lexington) for the first week in May, second and third
    weeks in California (San Jose) and then last week back in Mass.

    Travelling with me will be my 5 month old son so even though the
    thought of not cycling for a month is bad, the thought of having to
    bring my own bike is even more depressing (I never know a small baby
    needed so much luggage !!!).

    Could anyone help me with information on rentals in either/both area ?
    Would normal bike shops (eg. Cycle Loft in Burlington...I bought a bike
    off them about a year ago) rent good quality road bikes ? (I suppose
    Look pedals is asking a bit much... but I could bring my own).

    Thanks,

    John

    Does Lincoln Guide Service rent cycles?

    Yes, the Lincoln Guide Service rents cycles. It's also in an ideal
    location for rides. If you think you'll only ride occasionally (on
    weekends), then renting there might be the way to go. I don't know
    what their monthly rate would be.

John,

I live in Lexington. I assume that you are looking for a road bike...
What size do you need? I may have a bike that I can let you borrow (Look pedals
and all). Let me know or call me: DTN 227-3969.

Eric

PS, ...but don't set your hopes up on the Merlin - I don't think that you have
been checked out on the Ergos yet ;-)
2222.5What about the west coast ?52925::MCGRATHFri Apr 03 1992 02:5611
    Folks,

    Thanks to Matt and Eric I'm fixed up with a bike for the eastern legs
    of my US tour. Thanks guys.....

    Does someone know how I could go about finding some information on
    rentals in the west ? With California being the home of the mountain
    bike I'd default to renting a mountain bike if necessary (although I'd
    prefer a road bike).
